Nice M5BARR30 M5BAR barrier unit with BCU1 control unit for boom arms up to
4/5m
This electromechanical barrier serves as an ideal access control solution for
guarded parking lots, universities, public offices, residential complexes, and
industrial facilities. The robust construction of NICE barriers ensures
suitability for intensive use, guaranteeing a service life of up to one million
cycles. The modular boom design and extensive range of accessories allow for a
unique configuration of the NICE barrier to suit the specific installation
site.
The Nice M5BAR unit supports the installation of a boom arm with a maximum
length of 5 meters. It features a 24V, 110W motor with an encoder, delivering
200 Nm of torque.
At the heart of the barrier lies the proven and reliable BCU1 control
unit, featuring the manufacturer's latest specifications for the current
quarter (a firmware-optimized version). It maintains identical wiring diagrams,
electrical parameters, and full functionality regarding the BlueBUS system and
support for Yubii devices.
This latest version of the electronics features updated firmware, improved
overload detection characteristics (amperometric sensing), and enhanced native
compatibility with new accessories in the Nice ecosystem (e.g., OXIBD receivers
and Smart Home systems). The built-in control unit is designed for intensive
operation, meeting the demands of parking, industrial, and residential
installations.
Key features and functions:
- Full compatibility with NICE M-BAR and L-BAR barrier gates
- BlueBUS system support – quick and simple connection of safety
devices
- Option to connect photocells, safety edges, signal lights, and control
buttons
- Compatibility with NICE radio receivers (OXI, SMXI, SMXIS, and
others)

- Stable, proven design used as standard in NICE systems
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF NICE BARRIER GATES
DURABILITY AND RELIABILITY
Steel construction, heavy-duty balancing springs, and elliptical-profile arms
resistant to strong winds.
SAFETY
Photocells can be mounted within the control unit housing using special
optional brackets, protecting the area directly beneath the moving barrier arm.
During operation, the control unit monitors motor current draw; if an obstacle
is detected, it instantly halts movement and executes a programmed response
(e.g., reversal, brief reversal, or stop). Optionally, the arm can be fitted
with red rubber protective strips or a resistive safety edge (8.2 kΩ).
ADVANCED DESIGN, PROGRAMMING, AND SERVICING
Separate housing compartments for the electronics and mechanical components
significantly simplify drive maintenance. The control unit is located in the
upper section of the barrier, providing the installer with easy access to
settings and connectors.
A self-diagnosis function detects operational irregularities and indicates the
type of error via flashing light signals.
