Satel AMBER Digital PIR Detector

The AMBER Digital Detector is a motion detector designed for use in intruder and hold-up alarm systems. It is distinguished by its small size and very low power consumption. An advanced digital temperature compensation mechanism enables operation in a wide temperature range. The detector uses a double pyroelectric element.

  1. LED. If the pins are shorted, the LED indicates alarms and the startup status. Lights up red when the detector detects movement.
  2. Pyroelectric element.
  3. LED pins for turning the LED signaling on/off.
  4. SENS pins for setting the detector's sensitivity. If the pins are shorted, high sensitivity is set. If the pins are open, low sensitivity is set.
  5. NC alarm relay.
  6. Tamper contact (NC).
  7. Terminals:
    • +12V – power input
    • COM – ground
    • NC – relay>/li>
    • TMP – tamper contact
    Installation
The detector is designed for indoor installation. Please note that mounting at a height other than 2.4 meters has a negative impact on the detector's range and the area it covers.

    Startup

    • Turn on the detector's power supply. The LED will flash (if the LED pins are shorted), indicating the startup state. During the startup state, the detector does not register motion, and the relay contacts are alternately closed and opened. This may take over a minute.
    • When the detector enters the ready-to-operate state (the LED stops flashing), perform a detector range test, i.e., check whether movement within the monitored area will activate the alarm relay and illuminate the LED.
    • If necessary, change the detector's sensitivity (SENS pins).
