It makes additional inputs and outputs available. Each additional input and/or output is as personalized as if it were an input and/or output of the control unit.

Each time an expansion card is added or removed, it may be necessary to perform a "device loading" procedure. Otherwise, motor movement remains limited to "operator present" movement.
