GSM/UMTS

GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System)

GSM and UMTS are both mobile technologies that provide voice and data services. While both technologies are being phased out in favor of newer standards like LTE and 5G, they are still widely used in many parts of the world.

GSM is a second-generation (2G) cellular network technology that was introduced in the 1980s. It provides basic voice services and low-speed data transmission, such as GPRS and EDGE.

UMTS is a third-generation (3G) cellular network technology that was introduced in the early 2000s. It offers a significant improvement in data transmission speeds over GSM, enabling services such as video streaming, video calling, and online gaming.
