Fibaro Smoke Sensor 2 is a universal optical smoke detector compatible with Z-Wave standard, with many advantages:

• powered by CR123A battery (minimum battery life is 2 years)
  
• 3 levels of smoke detection sensitivity
• supports work in protected mode (Z-Wave Network Security) with AES-128 encryption
• alarm signaling by sound, optical indicator flashing and through commands sent to the Z-Wave controller
• notifications when the case is opened and it is possible to send notification of too high temperature
• every 10s the device is automatically tested

Fibaro Smoke Sensor 2 is sensitive enough to detect smoke before it appears signs of fire (fire or strong tampering in the room). IN when smoke appears, the detector checks both the amount of smoke in room and temperature. The alarm is activated when exceeded specific thresholds for these factors.
